The beloved mode of hardcore, which is known for players using it as a way of unlocking specific camos for certain guns, as well as having an experience of no HUD and shorter time-to-kill, will return next month as part of the update to season 2.
Infinity Ward released the below statement regarding season 2:
“Season 2 includes all new content, with the return of Resurgence and a brand new small map for Warzone 2.0” and also said, “Ranked play is also back and coming to Modern Warfare 2, along with new multiplayer maps, new modes, weapons and much more.”
In a more recent Tweet from their official account, Infinity Ward said:
The season 2 update will bring updates to Warzone 2.0 with the return of resurgence, a smaller map, 1v1 gulag and further changes to how the looting system will work in the game, while multiplayer updates are narrowed down to new maps, modes and weapons. However. a source has said we could see the addition of the crossbow and vepr-12 shotgun, as well as the possibility of gun game, gunfight and cranked all being added too. Ranked play will also come as part of the season 2 update, which is a mode fans have highly anticipated and will allow for more competitive gameplay.
The season 2 update is due to arrive on February 15th.
